CrowdStrike, OpenAI, and Anthropic: The Alliance Against Cyber Threats

An Unprecedented Coalition for Enhanced Cybersecurity

CrowdStrike recently unveiled Project QuiltWorks, an ambitious initiative that brings together major players in cybersecurity and consulting, such as IBM, EY, and Accenture, leveraging advanced technologies from OpenAI and Anthropic. This coalition aims to transform how companies identify and rectify software vulnerabilities in response to the rapidly evolving cyber threats.

To build Project QuiltWorks, CrowdStrike has gathered giants from consulting and cybersecurity, including Accenture, EY, IBM Cybersecurity Services, Kroll, and OpenAI, to support businesses on the ground. The frontier AI models from Anthropic and OpenAI are employed to scan code and detect invisible flaws. Together, these players are not merely there to patch holes but to change how organizations confront new cyber threats. Indeed, as artificial intelligence accelerates the discovery of vulnerabilities and the spread of malware, traditional methods are no longer sufficient.

A Response to Cyber Urgency

The rise in AI-assisted attacks, which have surged by 89%, has prompted CrowdStrike to take action. So-called "zero-day" vulnerabilities, exploited before they are reported, now account for 42% of vulnerabilities. In the face of this threat, Project QuiltWorks offers a four-step strategy:

1. Security Audit: Establish a precise assessment of an organization's vulnerabilities.
2. AI Analysis: Use AI to identify critical flaws that attackers can exploit.
3. Threat Prioritization: Rank vulnerabilities according to their actual danger on the ground.
4. Concrete Recommendations: Provide practical solutions and clear reports to executives.

At the same time, CrowdStrike is introducing the Frontier AI Readiness and Resilience service for its clients, which offers continuous monitoring and regular reports. This service is available through an annual subscription, payable with Falcon Flex credits.

CrowdStrike's partners, such as Kroll and IBM, emphasize the urgency of the situation. Kroll reports that over 90% of its clients have already fallen victim to cyber incidents involving AI. IBM describes these new threats as fast and autonomous, requiring a collective and coordinated response to be effectively countered.

A Four-Step Approach to Regain Control

Specifically, Project QuiltWorks proposes a four-step approach:

• First, an audit to establish a precise assessment of the organization's security.
• Next, AI models scrutinize codebases to identify genuinely dangerous flaws, not just those that show a high-risk score (CVSS) on paper, but those that an attacker could realistically exploit today.
• Then, experts prioritize these vulnerabilities based on what hackers are actually doing in the wild.
• Finally, concrete recommendations are formulated, culminating in clear reporting aimed at executives.

Alongside the coalition, CrowdStrike is launching a complementary service called Frontier AI Readiness and Resilience, aimed directly at its own clients. This is a renewable annual subscription, payable via Falcon Flex credits, the internal currency of the CrowdStrike ecosystem. The service provides access to continuous monitoring by experts, with regular assessments and reports designed for executive management. The QuiltWorks project is available now.

The urgency of the cyber threat is not lost on CrowdStrike's partners in this project. Kroll reveals that over 90% of its clients have already been affected by a cyber incident involving AI. IBM speaks of "a new category of threats: fast, systemic, and increasingly autonomous," with attacks capable of spreading and adapting without human intervention. CrowdStrike goes even further by comparing this moment to the Year 2000 bug, the Y2K of cybersecurity. But this threat, as real as it is massive, can only be confronted in tight ranks.
