Deezer: AI Dominates New Music Submissions
Deezer reports that tracks generated by artificial intelligence now exceed half of the daily uploads on its platform for the first time. At the same time, the company announces new removal measures targeting titles related to fraud or those that have not been listened to in several months.
In April 2026, we reported that 75,000 AI-generated tracks were being submitted daily to Deezer, accounting for 44% of daily deposits. Two months later, this volume reached an average of 90,000 tracks per day in June, a proportion that now exceeds 50% of the total.
90,000 AI-Generated Tracks Every Day
Since the deployment of its detection tool in January 2025, Deezer has observed a continuous increase in AI-generated tracks:
- 10,000 tracks per day at launch
- 30,000 in September 2025
- 50,000 in November
- 60,000 in January 2026
- 75,000 in April
The milestone of 90,000 daily tracks reached in June marks an acceleration compared to previous months, based on a monthly average calculated by the platform.
The company clarifies that this mass of content does not translate into streams. There is no massive listening of tracks entirely generated by AI. These tracks only account for 1 to 3% of listening streams on Deezer. It should be noted that since last year, Deezer systematically excludes them from recommendations and editorial playlists. However, Deezer specifies that up to 85% of the listens generated by these synthetic tracks were fraudulent in 2025, compared to 8% for the entire catalog. Specifically, these fraudulent listens aim to capture a share of the funds intended for rights holders. Deezer indicates that it removes them from the calculation of royalties, which limits their impact on artist compensation.
To go further, the platform announces the upcoming removal of AI titles identified as fraudulent, as well as those that have not been listened to for at least six months. This second category concerns tracks that have found no audience since their upload.
Deezer is certainly not the only company affected. A CISAC/PMP Strategy study estimates that nearly 25% of creators' revenue is threatened by 2028, amounting to approximately 4 billion euros. Since January, Deezer has also offered its detection technology to other industry players. Successful tests have been conducted with Sacem, and Billboard is already using it to qualify AI tracks in its charts. An Ipsos survey conducted in 2025 among 9,000 people in eight countries also indicates that 73% of streaming service users want to know if a recommended track is entirely generated by AI.
