Aircall, the Franco-American unicorn specializing in communication solutions for sales teams, has reached a new milestone by making its first acquisitions in the field of artificial intelligence. The company has acquired Piper AI and Vogent, two firms that will enhance its technological offering. The amount of these transactions has not been disclosed.
With over €200 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and profitability achieved for the past year, Aircall continues its expansion through external growth. These two acquisitions, the first in Aircall's history, are intended to strengthen the unicorn's artificial intelligence offerings for sales teams. Piper AI, a Spanish company, focuses on analyzing business interactions, transforming spoken conversations, emails, and messages into actionable signals automatically integrated into CRMs. This technology enables salespeople to better understand the dynamics of a deal, identify weak signals, and know when to intervene to prevent the loss of a contract.
Vogent, based in the United States, specializes in automating voice exchanges. Its AI agents can directly respond to certain calls, thereby optimizing the time of sales teams. By combining the analytical capabilities of Piper AI and the automation of Vogent, Aircall aims to provide a comprehensive artificial intelligence solution. Léa Lejoly, General Manager for Europe at Aircall since last December, emphasizes the company's commitment to investing in Europe and integrating European technologies. Aircall may continue this external growth strategy in the coming months.
At a time when some are talking about a "SaaSpocalypse" with the rise of AI, Aircall wants to avoid being swept up in the transformation of the software market. The company had already developed several internal artificial intelligence features capable of handling recurring requests or identifying new business opportunities. "We have had native AI in our platform for over two years. But with these acquisitions, we are now able to offer our clients a complete end-to-end AI solution," assures Léa Lejoly.
Aircall now claims over 23,000 clients, ranging from SMEs to large corporations, including startups like Qonto, SumUp, and Adyen. The company has two headquarters, one in Seattle and the other in Paris, with the latter being the larger of the two. More than half of its business is conducted in Europe. With a team of over 700 employees and an annual growth rate exceeding 25%, Aircall continues its development without rushing into an IPO. The company remains cautious about a potential IPO on the Nasdaq, as considered a few years ago. "An IPO or another form of liquidity: all of that can happen. But we are not managing Aircall with an exit in mind. We want to grow and establish ourselves in the market first; the rest will follow," concludes Léa Lejoly.
