A Journey Inspired by AI

Oscar Brisset, initially destined for a diplomatic career, changed course after discovering AI at the University of Oxford, particularly with the release of GPT-3. Graduating in 2022, he took a gap year before joining BCG in September 2023, where he worked in the private equity team. He often stayed at the office until midnight, leaving him little time during the week for other activities.

Despite these demanding hours, Brisset spent his weekends learning to code, using tools like Claude and ChatGPT to deepen his knowledge. He would ask these tools not to give him the answers immediately but rather to pose guiding questions to stimulate his learning. YouTube and theoretical manuals also proved to be valuable resources in his learning journey.

The Birth of Remy AI

After a year and a half at BCG, Brisset transitioned to a role as an AI engineer. One weekend in May, he experienced a personal crisis where he didn't sleep or eat much and spent time in bed reflecting on what he wanted to do with his life. It was that summer that he and his co-founder, Ben Kaye, came up with the idea for Remy AI.

Remy AI designs AI-powered robots for e-commerce warehouses. Unlike traditional warehouse robots, which require prior programming for each item they pick up, Remy AI's models adapt in real-time to changing conditions, integrating AI into the physical world. Starting in July, Brisset focused his efforts on sales, using LinkedIn to make connections.

In October, he traveled to San Francisco to secure funding, networking intensively and applying to Y Combinator. In 2026, Remy AI was invited to join YC's winter session, receiving a $500,000 investment, in addition to other funds raised.
