Google Cloud Next 26: The Era of the Agentic Enterprise

At the Next 26 event held in Las Vegas, Google Cloud marked a turning point by launching what it calls the era of the "Agentic Enterprise." Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, introduced the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, a new chip infrastructure and a rethought data architecture. Renowned companies such as KPMG, NASA, and the French group Valeo are already participating in this ambitious transformation.

The Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform

The Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform is at the heart of this event. It offers a unique dashboard that allows businesses to create, manage, and enhance their AI agents. For developers, the Agent Studio provides an intuitive interface that enables them to describe objectives in plain language, eliminating the need for complex coding. The Agent Registry serves as an internal directory, listing all agents and tools deployed within the organization.

The Gemini Enterprise application also integrates features designed to simplify users' daily tasks:

• Agent Designer: allows for the configuration of agents that activate automatically.
• Inbox: centralizes all actions and expectations of the agents.
• Skills: offers smart shortcuts to facilitate tasks.
• Canvas: provides an integrated editor directly accessible from the interface.

8th Generation TPU

To support the continuous operation of millions of AI agents, considerable computing power is required. Google has addressed this need with its 8th generation TPUs, specifically designed for AI. These chips come in two versions:

• TPU 8t: dedicated to training models, with processing power three times greater than the previous generation.
• TPU 8i: optimized for inference, offering 80% better performance per dollar spent.

Google Cloud has also introduced Managed Lustre and Rapid Storage, systems that provide data to the chips. The throughput of Managed Lustre now reaches 10 terabytes per second, while Rapid Storage has increased from 6 to 15 TB/s. The new Virgo Network connects hundreds of thousands of chips for effective collaborative work.

Agentic Data Cloud

The Agentic Data Cloud represents the data layer of this new architecture. The Cross-Cloud Lakehouse allows querying of data distributed across multiple clouds from a single access point. The Knowledge Catalog continuously maps all available data, while the Data Agent Kit enables data teams to collaborate with Gemini as an assistant.

Cybersecurity

The integration of AI agents in businesses exposes them to new cyber threats. To address this, Google has combined its Threat Intelligence with Wiz, a platform specializing in cloud security, to create the Agentic Defense. This solution allows AI agents to take on tasks traditionally reserved for human analysts, thereby accelerating the analysis of security alerts.

Adoption and Results

The results announced by Google Cloud are impressive. In just one month, 90% of KPMG employees are already using the Gemini Enterprise. The Australian bank Macquarie Bank has saved the equivalent of 100,000 hours of human labor thanks to this platform. The communications giant WPP now publishes an AI-generated advertising campaign every four days, twice as fast as before.

Thomas Kurian emphasized: “The technology is here. It is now time to build your growth engine.” This message aims to encourage Google Cloud customers to adopt these innovations, knowing that 75% of customers are already using at least one AI product from Google Cloud. The Agentic Enterprise is on the rise, and Google Cloud intends to be its undisputed leader.
