Full Analysis

Google recently announced the expansion of its Gemini feature in Chrome to seven new countries. Users in Australia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam can now access this technology on their desktop computers and iOS devices, except in Japan where it is limited to desktop.

Since last year, Google has been integrating artificial intelligence and Gemini into Chrome in various ways, including through a floating window. Earlier this year, a sidebar-based assistant was introduced, allowing users to ask questions across different tabs and utilize Gemini's Personal Intelligence feature. This offers personalized responses by connecting to services such as Gmail and Google Photos.

Among the features offered, users can schedule meetings via Calendar, check location details with Maps, and draft emails with Gmail directly in Chrome. Additionally, image transformation on the web is facilitated by Nano Banana 2 integrated into the sidebar.

Initially launched in the United States in January, Gemini in Chrome saw its availability expand to India, Canada, and New Zealand in March. With this new expansion, Google continues to broaden access to Gemini in Chrome for an international audience.

However, the agentic feature, which allows control of the browser window to perform tasks automatically, remains in testing. It is currently reserved for users on the paid AI Pro and AI Ultra plans in the United States.
