A Company Founded Thanks to AI
Kristin Ginn achieved a remarkable feat by launching her AI adoption consulting firm, named trnsfrmAItn, in just 60 days. To accomplish this, she relied on free generative AI tools, which played a crucial role in developing her initial idea. By training two AIs to act as senior executives, she was able to test her concepts, create business assets, develop sales strategies, and attract clients faster than expected.
Testing the Business Idea with AI
To assess the viability of her business idea, Kristin first used the free version of Microsoft Copilot. She poured all her thoughts into it, ranging from describing her goals to logistical and emotional aspects related to her departure from her previous job. The AI asked her questions to clarify certain points but generally encouraged her to pursue her project.
Aware that AI can sometimes be overly accommodating, Kristin also turned to OpenAI's ChatGPT for a different perspective. She phrased her question in various ways, seeking to identify potential weaknesses in her idea. Additionally, she adopted an approach she calls the "C-suite focus group mode," asking the AI to put itself in the shoes of her target audience, such as a CEO of a mid-sized company, to gain critical feedback.
This method allowed Kristin to gather valuable insights, particularly on the importance for CFOs to understand the return on investment (ROI) of her service. Despite her efforts to elicit harsh criticism, none of the tools deemed her idea bad, which encouraged her to continue its development.
AI as a Creative Partner
Kristin then sought the help of AI tools to create the essentials for launching her business. She asked the AIs to behave like an experienced creative agency and shared her branding goals, wishing to project an image of trust, professionalism, and friendliness.
The tools proposed several ideas based on her objectives, and after several iterations, Kristin was able to finalize her color palette, her company name, and her logo. Moreover, she used AI to draft the content for her website, an ebook explaining her approach, and an "AI readiness assessment" aimed at attracting new clients. Although adjustments were necessary to ensure the text reflected her voice, she believes that AI helped her accomplish 70 to 80% of the work.
Developing a Quick Monetization Strategy with AI
While discussing her sales strategy with Copilot and ChatGPT, Kristin learned that the sales cycle for large companies could be lengthy, but individuals were more likely to engage quickly. Armed with this information, she pivoted towards creating training workshops to sell to her personal network.
This strategy proved successful, as she secured her first two clients in record time, going from late July to early September. As she added new clients, she used AI to help her set her prices. Unsure of how much to charge for a 90-minute workshop, she asked the AI tools to propose a justified price range. After several consultations, she opted for the suggested figure, which turned out to be acceptable for her clients, thus avoiding undervaluing her services.
For those with a business idea, Kristin firmly believes that AI can open doors and provide valuable resources that would otherwise be inaccessible.
