A Decisive Week for AI with OpenAI, DeepSeek, and Anthropic
This week marks a significant turning point in the field of artificial intelligence models, with major announcements from several leading companies. OpenAI, DeepSeek, and Anthropic have each unveiled their latest innovations, aiming to stand out in a rapidly evolving sector. OpenAI has revealed GPT-5.5, while DeepSeek has presented a preliminary version of its V4 model. Anthropic, for its part, has introduced version 4.7 of its Claude Opus model.
These companies are competing ingeniously to attract both consumers and businesses, continuously enhancing their offerings. The tech industry continues to funnel billions of dollars into the development of these technologies, hoping to gain significant competitive advantages.
DeepSeek: An Innovative Architecture for Reduced Costs
DeepSeek has highlighted its new models, V4 Flash and V4 Pro, which stand out for their ability to perform reasoning and agentic tasks. These models rely on a Hybrid Attention Architecture, allowing them to retain query histories over long sequences of requests. This innovation also enables the use of longer documents or code as prompts, while benefiting from architectural improvements and optimization.
One of the major advantages of these models is their ability to be deployed on less expensive hardware, which could represent substantial savings for businesses. DeepSeek, which emerged last year by disrupting the market with competitive and affordable models, faces criticism, including from the White House, which accuses China of technology theft. Furthermore, OpenAI has accused DeepSeek of using its models to create its own.
OpenAI: Towards More Intuitive Computing with GPT-5.5
OpenAI also made waves by launching ChatGPT 5.5, as part of its rollout of GPT-5.5 for paying subscribers. This new version emphasizes coding, computer usage, and research, with improvements aimed at making interaction more intuitive and requiring less human guidance.
Greg Brockman, President of OpenAI, emphasized that this version lays the groundwork for large-scale agentic computing, promising a revolutionary way to work with computers in the future. ChatGPT 5.5 is now accessible to paying users of ChatGPT and Codex, as well as for the Thinking and Pro versions, with integration planned for the API.
Anthropic: A Safer and More Accessible AI Model
Anthropic has unveiled its Opus 4.7 model, designed to be more accessible and user-friendly than its predecessor Mythos, which was deemed potentially dangerous for cybersecurity. Mythos is a highly advanced AI model that the company considers potentially hazardous for cybersecurity, to the extent that it has not yet been made public. Opus distinguishes itself by its ability to produce aesthetically improved results, particularly for presentations and documents, and to interpret prompts more literally.
This approach could prove particularly useful for coders or other users requiring direct and precise results. Anthropic continues to develop AI models that combine performance and safety, addressing the growing concerns regarding cybersecurity.
