Recursive Superintelligence raises $500 million in record time
The AI startup, Recursive Superintelligence, has successfully raised an impressive $500 million, just four months after its inception. This funding round, which values the startup at $4 billion pre-investment, was led by GV, formerly known as Google Ventures, with notable participation from Nvidia. According to the Financial Times, the enthusiasm for this funding round was such that the total amount could reach up to $1 billion.
A team of experienced founders
The founding team of Recursive Superintelligence includes Richard Socher, former Chief Scientist at Salesforce, and Tim Rocktäschel, an AI professor at University College London and former principal scientist at Google DeepMind. The company has about 20 employees, including former researchers from OpenAI as well as alumni from Google and Meta, which enhances its expertise in the field of artificial intelligence.
An ambitious self-improving AI project
Recursive Superintelligence has not yet officially launched its products, but it is focused on developing an AI system capable of self-improvement without human intervention. Although this concept is still in the research stage and has not been tested over long periods, it is seen by many researchers as a crucial step toward superintelligence, an AI that would far exceed human capabilities.
