Google continues to strengthen its presence in the field of AI-generated music. The tech giant recently announced two significant advancements for its music creation tool, Lyria. These improvements mark an important step in the evolution of AI music.
While many music streaming platforms seek to limit the impact of AI-generated tracks, Google is taking a different approach. Last month, the company integrated its latest music generation model, Lyria 3, into Gemini, and then into Google Labs via the Producer.AI service. Although the initial results did not meet expectations, Google remains committed to refining this technology.
Google Launches Lyria 3 Pro
Lyria was designed to enable those with no musical skills to create their own tracks. Initially, the tool could generate 30-second pieces based on a simple prompt, while also offering the ability to create an album cover through Nano Banana. Available on both the web and mobile versions of Gemini, the model, however, had shortcomings, particularly in the quality of the generated lyrics.
Refusing to be discouraged, Google launched Lyria 3 Pro, an enhanced model that offers increased music composition capabilities. This new tool can generate specific elements such as intros, verses, choruses, and bridges, and is capable of creating tracks with a maximum duration of 3 minutes. Available in French and seven other languages by March 28, this version is currently reserved for adult users with a Business (Standard, Plus), Enterprise (Standard, Plus), Google AI Pro, and Ultra subscription.
Lyria Now Also Available in Vids
In addition to these improvements, Google announced that Lyria 3 and Lyria 3 Pro are now integrated into Google Vids. The goal is to enhance the video creation experience by providing high-quality music that perfectly fits the brand and style of the company or organization.
Google Gemini

However, access to these tools remains limited to paying subscribers. Only Business (Starter, Standard, and Plus), Enterprise (Starter, Standard, and Plus), Education Plus, and Google AI Pro or Ultra customers can benefit from this. This access is promotional and is set to last until the end of May.
For other users, the free version of Lyria remains accessible via Gemini. Simply go to the "Tools" menu and select "Create Music" to use it.
