WWDC 2026: A Showcase of Apple's Innovations
Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference 2026, starting this Monday at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, promises to be packed with new features. Tech enthusiasts can follow the event live on the Apple Developer app, Apple's website, and the Apple Developer YouTube channel.
Siri: A Conversational Revolution
One of the most anticipated announcements concerns Siri, which will undergo a major transformation. Thanks to the integration of Google's Gemini technology, Siri will become a more conversational assistant, capable of understanding context and handling complex tasks. Recent leaks from Bloomberg have revealed that a standalone Siri app could also emerge, competing with AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. Additionally, a new feature will allow users to set timers to automatically delete conversations after 30 days, one year, or to keep them indefinitely.
AI Agents in the App Store
Apple plans to integrate AI agents into the App Store, according to The Information. These agents will enable users to delegate various tasks, such as making restaurant reservations, managing daily tasks, editing documents, or controlling smart home devices, although details remain limited.
Enhancements to Camera and Photos Apps
The Camera app will benefit from a new "Visual Intelligence" section, replacing the previous feature of the same name. This mode, utilizing Google Image Search, will accurately identify captured objects. The Photos app, on the other hand, will introduce smart scene recommendations to optimize photos, as well as automatic object removal for sharper images. An AI photo editing feature will also allow modifications through natural language.
Developments in the Image Playground App
The Image Playground app will see significant improvements, with higher quality image generation, more artistic styles, better character consistency, and enhanced editing controls. The interface for creating new images will be simplified, offering fewer controls and an option to "describe a change" for editing. Users may also generate AI wallpapers reflecting various themes and moods.
Other Expected Updates
The Wallet app will receive notable updates, including a new bill-sharing feature that will simplify sharing expenses among friends or family. Users will be able to photograph a receipt and effortlessly generate payment requests to different parties. Additionally, the Wallet app will include a "Create a Pass" option, allowing users to generate digital passes from physical items such as movie tickets, concert passes, or gym membership cards.
Updates for MacOS, iPadOS, visionOS, watchOS, and tvOS
Apple is expected to enhance the AI-powered Siri experience on its devices, as well as likely incorporate more AI features and stability updates.
