Methodology

The Crunchbase unicorn leaderboard is a curated list that includes private unicorn companies with post-funding valuations of $1 billion or more, based on data from Crunchbase. New companies are added to the unicorn leaderboard when they reach the billion-dollar valuation threshold as part of a funding round.

Funding values are expressed in U.S. dollars unless otherwise noted. Crunchbase converts foreign currencies into U.S. dollars at the exchange rate in effect on the date of funding rounds, acquisitions, IPOs, and other financial events.
