Anthropic, a leading company in the field of artificial intelligence, has recently announced that it has submitted a confidential application for an initial public offering (IPO). This move has not been accompanied by details regarding the size of the offering or the listing location, leaving many questions unanswered.

During its latest funding round, Anthropic raised an impressive $65 billion, allowing the San Francisco-based company to double its post-funding valuation to $965 billion. This figure places Anthropic ahead of its main competitor, OpenAI, whose post-funding valuation stood at $840 billion after a $110 billion round in February.

A Frenzied Race to the Public Markets

Anthropic's IPO application comes amid intense competition among generative AI giants to access public markets. However, this process may still take some time. Before making its debut, Anthropic must obtain approval from securities regulators for its confidential filing.
