Anthropic continues its expansion in the realm of creative tools with the announcement on April 28, 2026, of nine new connectors for its assistant Claude. This initiative comes just a week after Claude was integrated into everyday applications like Spotify and Uber, highlighting Anthropic's commitment to diversifying the uses of its AI.
Nine Connectors for Creatives
The new connectors aim to integrate Claude into design software, 3D modeling, video editing, and music production, without seeking to replace these tools. Among the notable integrations are:
- Ableton: Claude can now rely on the official documentation for Live and Push to assist users.
- Adobe for creativity: Over fifty tools from Creative Cloud, including Photoshop and Premiere, are accessible for generating visual content.
- Affinity by Canva: Automates repetitive tasks and allows for the creation of custom features.
- Autodesk Fusion: Facilitates the creation and modification of 3D models through conversations with Claude.
- Blender: Offers a natural language interface to the Python API, enabling manipulation of complex scenes.
- Resolume Arena and Wire: Allows real-time control of these audiovisual tools via voice.
- SketchUp: Transforms textual descriptions into 3D modeling projects.
- Splice: Assists in finding royalty-free samples for music producers.
Anthropic highlights five main uses for these integrations, such as training on complex software, writing scripts and plugins via Claude Code, and automating repetitive tasks. Additionally, the connectors enable the transfer of assets between applications in a production chain and allow for rapid exploration of ideas through Claude Design.
Activating the Connectors
To activate these connectors, users can navigate to Claude's directory, accessible via the settings, then select "Connectors" and click "Connect." Another method is to use the "+" icon in the input bar to add connectors. This procedure is similar to that used for the fifteen previously integrated everyday applications.
Notably, the connector for Blender was developed by the software's teams and is based on the MCP protocol, an open standard initiated by Anthropic. Furthermore, the company is collaborating with three partner schools: the Rhode Island School of Design, the Ringling College of Art and Design, and Goldsmiths, University of London. These institutions will have access to the new connectors and provide feedback that will guide future developments.
