Anthropic entrusts the management of its agent standard to the AAIF
The governance of Anthropic's agent skills is being transferred to the Agentic AI Foundation, hosted by the Linux Foundation. This transfer is part of the ongoing submission of the Model Context Protocol to the same foundation, co-founded last year with Block and OpenAI. Anthropic reaffirms the openness, community orientation, and vendor neutrality of these skills.
The AAIF Already Hosts the Model Context Protocol
The Agentic AI Foundation has recently become the home of the Model Context Protocol specification. Anthropic had already transferred this protocol to this foundation. The AAIF operates under the auspices of the Linux Foundation. It was co-founded last year by Anthropic, Block, and OpenAI.

Anthropic is committed to keeping these agent skills open. The company also asserts their community orientation and neutrality towards vendors. Last December, Anthropic had already indicated that these skills would be offered as an "open standard."
