Anthropic Launches Claude Duet, an AI Agent for American Subscribers Only

Anthropic launches Claude Duet, an agent based on Claude Opus 5.5 that automates summaries, app monitoring, and task execution. The service includes validations before sensitive actions and a new security system. This is an early version with stated limitations, available on a waitlist for Pro or Max subscribers in the United States.
Waitlist Access and Incomplete Version
Claude Duet is offered as a research preview, and access is through a waitlist. Its use is reserved for Pro or Max subscribers located in the United States. Anthropic also presents this agent as an early version, which may misinterpret a thread or misjudge the urgency of an event. The company further warns that it is not as effective for personal tasks such as booking tickets.
Actions Subject to Approval and Dedicated Protections
Before any operation deemed important, such as a payment or deletion, Claude Duet requests explicit approval. To limit leaks of sensitive information, the agent includes a dedicated classifier and a security system designed to deny requests for sharing the most critical data, such as credit card numbers.

Daily Functions, Integrations, and Available Support
According to Anthropic, the service is based on a logic of continuous assistance: each morning, a summary of key information from connected applications is provided, followed by notifications limited to topics requiring particular vigilance. The agent handles tasks ranging from organizing meetings to generating dashboards through several dozen tools, as well as developing financial or business forecasts, prototyping, and designing web applications. Claude Duet combines the memory, capabilities, and connected applications of Claude, using a virtual machine equipped with a browser. Built around Claude Opus 5.5, it is available as a standalone app on iOS and Android, and via Claude on the web. This launch targets professionals and small businesses, positioning itself competitively against Meta's Muse and OpenAI's Dots.
