LLM Modernizes Its API for Language Models
The Python library LLM, known for its ability to provide an abstraction layer over a multitude of language models, is undergoing a major transformation. This change aims to integrate new features developed by various providers over the past year, including server-side tool execution, which the previous version of LLM could not handle.
To design this new abstraction layer, Claude Code was tasked with analyzing the Python client libraries of leading language model providers, namely Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, and Mistral. The goal was to generate curl commands that allow access to raw JSON in both streaming and non-streaming modes, tailored to various scenarios.
The results of these analyses, including scripts and captured outputs, are now available in a new repository.
