Apple has officially announced that its next Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will take place from June 8 to June 12, 2026. The event will be held both online and at the company's headquarters in Cupertino, California. This announcement was made by the company on Monday.
Apple's annual conference is traditionally an opportunity to unveil new software features for its flagship products. This year, the focus will be on advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), with updates planned for the iOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS platforms. Apple also plans to introduce new tools aimed at developers.
WWDC sessions will be streamed live via the Apple Developer app, Apple's website, and the dedicated YouTube channel. In China, users will be able to follow the event on Apple Developer's bilibili channel.
Unlike last year, which emphasized the "Liquid Glass" interface design, this edition is expected to mark a turning point with the introduction of new AI capabilities. Apple plans to launch an enhanced version of Siri, enriched by advanced AI technologies. Earlier this year, Apple signed an agreement with Google to integrate Gemini, thereby strengthening the AI capabilities of its platform. Siri could thus benefit from improved contextual understanding and increased on-screen awareness.
At last year's conference, Apple introduced the Foundation Model framework, allowing AI models to operate offline. Advances in this area could be announced this year. Additionally, Apple had integrated models like ChatGPT into Xcode to facilitate programming. More recently, agentic coding tools such as Claude Agent from Anthropic and Codex from OpenAI have been added to Xcode, highlighting Apple's commitment to innovation in AI.
