The lawsuit filed by Apple could not come at a worse time for OpenAI. Apple filed a complaint for trade secret violation against OpenAI last Friday, and the situation is serious. The complaint alleges a pattern of misconduct reaching up to OpenAI's hardware director and claims that over 400 former Apple employees now work for the company. OpenAI's response so far has been carefully measured, and the timing couldn't be more delicate, as the company is apparently considering an initial public offering (IPO) as early as the end of this year.
