Apple Launches Apple Intelligence in China with iOS 27.3 Starting in November

Apple plans to activate a first set of Apple Intelligence features in China with the beta of iOS 27.3 expected on November 4, ahead of a full launch in December. The new version of Siri will remain absent. The initiative also relies on a partnership with Alibaba and a language model specifically trained for the Chinese market.
Approval in July and China-specific model
Apple Intelligence received approval from Chinese authorities in July. Apple developed a language model specifically for China, a detail reported in August. Apple also announced a collaboration with Alibaba to integrate support for the Qwen chatbot into certain experiences. Qwen is a chatbot developed by Alibaba. Additionally, an integration of iOS with OpenAI's ChatGPT was launched in 2024.
