Bee announces two portable AI assistants starting at $74.99

Bee, now under the Amazon umbrella, adds two devices to its range of portable AI assistants: Bee Frontier, which can be worn on the wrist or clipped on, and Bee Eclipse, which magnetically attaches to a smartphone. Prices are announced between $74.99 and $99.99, with a Pro plan available for $11.99 per month. The conversation processing focuses on the removal of raw audio and device-controlled encryption of transcriptions.
Real-time audio deletion and device-controlled keys
Bee does not retain the raw audio of conversations: it is processed in real-time and then deleted. Transcriptions are encrypted using keys generated and controlled by the device, making them inaccessible to Amazon employees unless the user chooses to share them manually. Users can delete transcriptions and summaries at any time. An optional connection to Alexa allows, via Voice ID on an Echo device, to recognize the user's voice and record conversations to provide insights from Bee. Thanks to connections to Amazon.com and Alexa, users can make purchases on Amazon or ask Alexa for insights, summaries, or task lists hands-free.
Conversation note-taking and productivity integrations
Bee devices leverage AI to extract key points from conversations and transform them into tasks, summaries, or ideas. For example, they can remember a scheduled date and time to create a calendar invitation, serve as a note-taking tool for classes, or document a care plan. Bee integrates with Gmail, Google Calendar, and Microsoft Outlook to draft emails, schedule meetings, and surface actions. Users can also upload photos or connect Apple HealthKit to enrich wellness-related insights. Summaries and recaps are offered for free, with a memory span of 14 days.

Entry pricing and Pro offer at $11.99 per month
Bee Frontier is priced at $74.99, while Bee Eclipse is available for $99.99, with different color options: Onyx, Lavender, and Sage for the Frontier; Silver, Midnight, Honey, and Rose for the Eclipse. The Bee Pro offer, billed at $11.99 monthly, provides unlimited summaries, integrations with Amazon.com, Alexa+, and other third-party applications, as well as recommended tasks, daily reminders, a dedicated chat assistant, and dialogue templates. This pricing positions Bee against Plaud Note ($159 or $189 for the Note Pro) and Pocket AI ($129).
Format, battery life, and availability of new devices
Bee Frontier can be worn on the wrist or clipped to clothing, while Bee Eclipse, credit card-sized, magnetically attaches to the back of a smartphone. Both devices feature a single power button and an indicator light showing when a summary is being generated. The Frontier offers an IP67 certification for water resistance, a battery life of up to seven days, USB-C charging, and two microphones equipped with an advanced noise reduction system. Each device comes with a newly redesigned companion mobile app and a brand-new desktop application. Bee Frontier is available immediately on Amazon, while the Eclipse will be offered shortly thereafter. These are the first launches from Bee since its acquisition by Amazon, announced on Thursday.
