Bluesky Announces Attie to Create Websites and Games with AI

Bluesky pushes Attie beyond custom feeds: the platform aims to enable anyone to create websites, games, quizzes, and polls, with integrated distribution on the network. The company is also preparing support for private data, currently in alpha and set for deployment by the end of the year, as part of a strategy to revitalize its activity.
Integrated Distribution and 47 Million Sign-Ups
Creations made with Attie can reach a wide audience on Bluesky, said Operations Director Rose Wang. According to her, the tool relies on the existing distribution of the network and does not operate in isolation, a key point as content dissemination remains a major hurdle. The network claims 47 million registered users but has experienced a decline in engagement, with some testers returning to X. Bluesky positions Attie at the heart of its plans to energize activity in the coming months, targeting developers and communities. These efforts will be bolstered by the upcoming support for private data at the protocol level, described by Toni Schneider as the number one request from developers. This feature is currently in alpha testing, with deployment expected by the end of the year.

Attie Aims to Open Creation to Non-Developers
Bluesky has announced the arrival of a tool, an extension of Attie, to create websites, quizzes, games, polls, and other interactive experiences. Attie, which initially served to generate custom feeds using AI, is expanding to target creators who do not code. Toni Schneider describes the approach as "vibe coding," which aims to shift from solo use to group creations. Projects will be linked to the atproto identity of their authors, and Attie will offer suggestions based on public profiles on Bluesky. Users can leverage their own AI models or open-weight models. The produced experiences must be hosted on the AT Protocol, which powers Bluesky and other decentralized social applications within the Atmosphere.
Focus on AI, with Schneider at the Helm
CEO Toni Schneider detailed the new capabilities of Attie on the sidelines of Disrupt, mentioning a feature for creating websites and social experiences aimed at communities. A former leader at Automattic and partner at True Ventures, he has been serving as interim CEO since the resignation of Jay Graber in March, who became the Director of Innovation, and is now fully taking the reins as Bluesky enters an AI-focused phase. Attie serves as a laboratory to test these ideas. Schneider anticipates a proliferation of small social experiences among friends, without constantly aiming to address the entire world.
