Seven weeks after the launch of ChatGPT 5.4, OpenAI has unveiled ChatGPT 5.5, a new series of models aimed at paying users of ChatGPT and Codex. Greg Brockman, president of OpenAI, emphasized that GPT-5.5 stands out due to its increased intuition, requiring less human guidance. Although GPT-5.5 is a general-purpose model, it is particularly useful for researchers and programmers. Equipped with agentic capabilities, it can perform tasks autonomously. It surpasses GPT-5.4 in benchmarks assessing the use of computer applications and solving mathematical problems. GPT-5.5 is specifically focused on mathematics, science, and AI research.
