This change comes alongside two other notable features: a Think button for more thoughtful responses and the removal of the text message cap, allowing for unlimited exchanges.

A More Powerful Model and Unlimited Messaging

The transition to GPT-5.6 Luna marks an important milestone for ChatGPT. This model promises more accurate responses, with a 62% reduction in factual errors compared to its predecessor, GPT-5.5 Instant. This improvement is particularly noticeable in financial, medical, and legal domains. Furthermore, the message limit, which previously forced users to switch to a lighter model after a certain number of exchanges, has now been lifted for text conversations. However, sending files and creating images remain subject to restrictions, as OpenAI maintains security measures to prevent abuse.

Enhancements for Paid Subscribers

Users of the Plus and Pro plans also benefit from updates with GPT-5.6 Sol. This model offers more direct responses and simplified formatting, adjusted according to the complexity of the questions asked. A new feature is the model's increased ability to contradict its interlocutor, an aspect that will be evaluated over time. Now, a single model handles both immediate responses and in-depth reflections, thanks to a slider that allows users to modulate the effort of reflection. This update does not apply to the GPT-5.6 Sol versions used by Codex and ChatGPT Work.

OpenAI has also taken measures to protect underage users. Accounts identified as belonging to individuals under 18 benefit from a model trained to refuse interactions involving romantic roleplay and to avoid substituting for real relationships.
