At Melio, Claude Handles Up to 80% of a Product Manager's Tasks
A product manager at Melio relies on Claude and Cowork to orchestrate his workday, utilizing autonomous routines and a system integrated into the team. He estimates that 70% to 80% of his time is spent using it, while describing a core of 20% that is still out of reach. Here’s an overview of this system, its onboarding process in 15 minutes, and the rules that govern it.
70 to 80% of Time via Cowork, 20% Still Inaccessible
Daniel Blum believes that 70% to 80% of his workday is spent using Cowork. He notes that about 20% of tasks remain beyond Claude's capabilities, which means not all of his activities are covered yet. He also points out that the initial weeks of use may seem slow in terms of return on investment, but he continues to use the system.
Autonomous Routines for Preparation, Briefing, and Self-Improvement
Every Sunday, an automation fully populates a Notion board without manual intervention. Each morning, Claude autonomously absorbs new internal terms during a briefing and identifies expressions he does not know to add them to his context. A self-improvement mechanism observes the changes made by Daniel Blum, identifies recurring difficulties, and suggests areas for progress. Daniel Blum now only uses Notion for consultation.

A Toolset Foundation Deployed to the Team in 15 Minutes
The system relies on Claude and Cowork to manage the Notion board, handle Slack messages and emails, and execute weekly self-improvement loops without prompting. Cowork has built and manages the Notion board used by Daniel Blum at Melio. To generalize the approach, an integration plugin called Workstation allows any Melio employee to start with a customized Claude setup in about 15 minutes. This setup has been extended to the product team, with user experience lessons learned particularly from the distribution of an element called Spectacular. Daniel Blum also mentions the use of a Chrome connector in relation to MCPs for tools without integrations.
Method and Framing: Rules, Context, and Filtering Advice
Daniel Blum puts forward two rules that he considers crucial for making an AI system powerful, regardless of the tool chosen. He provides context to Claude through voice memos, links, and recurring updates. He also uses a skill called Improve to filter AI advice and select those he finds useful.
