Claude Accesses Accounts via Plaid, US Beta and Ad-Free

Anthropic activates a read-only banking interface in Claude, connected via Plaid and reserved for paying subscribers, to query their spending and payments. The company promises not to use these exchanges to train its models and to exclude any advertising, while an extension to licensed advisors is being considered.
Read-Only Banking Data and No Advertising
Claude's banking access is limited to read-only, with no ability to move, manage, or invest funds. Anthropic states that conversations held in the Personal Finance section will not be used to train the model and that no advertising or sponsored recommendations will appear there. Accounts can be disconnected at any time. The connection is made via Plaid, without Claude seeing the banking password.

What Subscribers Can Do, and Where It’s Available
Users can break down their spending by category, view upcoming payments, and ask questions about their situation, such as whether they are spending more than they earn. The feature, called Personal Finance, connects to accounts via Plaid. It is being rolled out in beta in the United States and is reserved for Pro, Max, and Ultra plans.
Next Steps Considered and Market Comparison
Anthropic plans to connect Claude to licensed financial advisors and regulated companies. In the United States, OpenAI already offers a similar option called Finances.
