Starbucks innovates by integrating ChatGPT to transform your coffee ordering experience. Announced on Wednesday, this new beta application allows users to receive personalized suggestions for their next Starbucks drink based on their mood or cravings at the moment.

Although direct ordering through ChatGPT is not possible, the application suggests drinks and menu items that you might like, before redirecting you to the Starbucks app or website to finalize your purchase.

Since the introduction of this feature last year, OpenAI has enriched ChatGPT with many other applications. These now allow users to perform various tasks, such as searching for real estate listings or creating playlists, all without leaving the chatbot interface.

To use this new feature, simply make requests like "@Starbucks, I want something bubbly to start my morning" or upload an image reflecting your mood and location. ChatGPT will then provide a menu suggestion, which you can begin to order through the chatbot before finalizing it on the Starbucks app or online.

Paul Riedel, Senior Vice President of Digital and Loyalty at Starbucks, explained that the company found that customers do not always start by checking the menu. "They start with a feeling," he said. "We wanted to meet customers at that moment of inspiration and make it easier than ever to find a drink that suits them."

Starbucks emphasizes that this interaction with ChatGPT allows for increased personalization of your order while introducing you to new menu options. During a test of the feature, one intriguing combination suggested by ChatGPT was an espresso with squeezed lemon. The AI also described another drink as "essentially a liquid dessert soup," for those seeking a unique tasting experience.
