Comand AI Raises 32 Million Euros to Transform the Battlefield

The French startup Comand AI, specializing in the development of software for the battlefield, has recently raised an impressive 32 million euros. This Series A funding was primarily led by Blossom Capital, a London-based investor, with notable participation from the Swedish defense giant Saab and Polish investor Expeditions.

An AI Platform for Optimized Military Strategy

Comand AI has developed a software platform that integrates artificial intelligence to assist military officers in planning and executing operations. This technology aims to optimize military strategy by enabling officers to plan and conduct operations with increased efficiency. Additionally, Comand AI offers post-operation analysis tools that help officers better prepare for and train for upcoming missions. Loïc Mougeolle, co-founder and CEO of Comand AI, stated that the goal is to enhance officers' capabilities so they can plan and execute operations more quickly and with fewer personnel.

Rapid Growth Supported by Renowned Investors

This new capital injection comes about a year and a half after a previous funding round of 8.5 million euros in December 2024. Comand AI benefits from the support of several influential investors, including Eurazeo, Frst, Kima Ventures, and Tiny VC. Sifted understands that this new Series A was in preparation for over six months.

Strategic Expansion into New Markets

With this funding, Comand AI plans to accelerate the expansion of its native AI platform into NATO markets and explore new operational domains, including air and maritime, the latter of which is already under development. Comand AI's platform has been successfully deployed within operational units in France, Germany, and Ukraine, as well as in other allied countries over the past year.

A New Era for Military Strategy

Loïc Mougeolle emphasized that "operations where orders were given by voice and text are giving way to operations where perception, decision, and action are defined and executed by algorithms." He added that nations that can quickly adapt to these new technologies will be the ones that dominate the future of military operations.

Blossom Capital and Its Growing Interest in Defense

Based in London, Blossom Capital has shown a growing interest in the defense sector, as evidenced by its recent investment in the Estonian air defense startup Frankenburg Technologies last year, in addition to its commitment to Comand AI. This trend underscores the increasing importance of defense technologies in Blossom Capital's investment portfolio.
