Deezer is preparing a button to filter AI music

Deezer will introduce a button to filter out AI-generated music from search results and listening experiences. This announcement comes as the share of AI uploads surpassed 50% in July on the platform, while competitors are adopting varied policies. The feature is expected to be available before the end of the year.
Over 50% of AI uploads in July and different approaches from rivals
In July, Deezer reported that AI-generated tracks accounted for over 50% of daily uploads, averaging 90,000 tracks per day. Other music streaming platforms are adopting diverse strategies in response to this phenomenon. Bandcamp has chosen to completely ban AI-generated tracks, while Tidal has removed monetization for those who publish them. Spotify has opted for more visible labeling of tracks and artists associated with AI. According to Variety, Apple Music is considering labeling AI tracks by the end of the year. Additionally, some users are employing independent tracking systems to identify AI-generated music.

Deezer is preparing a button to exclude AI from results
Deezer is developing a button that will allow users to filter out AI-generated music on its platform. Once activated, this control will prevent tracks, albums, and artists associated with AI-produced music from appearing in search results. The company plans to make this feature available before the end of the year.
User demand, AI explosion, and existing tools
Deezer's CEO, Alexis Lanternier, states that there is a clear demand to filter out AI-generated music, and that Deezer will provide the option to completely remove this content to focus on human creations. He notes that the significant increase in AI music on the platform has motivated the implementation of this button. Approximately 45% of customers expressed a desire to remove AI music from their feeds, according to a survey conducted last year cited by Deezer. Deezer had already introduced AI detection tools last year; at that time, AI-generated tracks accounted for 10% of daily uploads.
