Deezer Launches Tool to Detect AI Music on Competing Platforms
Deezer has recently unveiled a free tool capable of detecting music generated by artificial intelligence (AI) in playlists, even on competing platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Tidal, and Amazon Music. This initiative aims to encourage these platforms to adopt Deezer's detection and labeling technology.
The Rise of Synthetic Music
With the proliferation of AI-generated music, it is becoming increasingly difficult for listeners to distinguish human creations from synthetic tracks. A survey revealed that 97% of people are unable to make this distinction. Deezer is therefore offering this tool to help identify tracks created by generative AIs like Suno or Udio.
A Tool Accessible on Multiple Platforms
Deezer's AI music detector is not limited to its own platform. It is available on around twenty services, including:
- Spotify
- Apple Music
- YouTube Music
- Tidal
- Amazon Music
- Soundcloud
- Yandex Music
- Qobuz
- Beatport
- iTunes
- Napster
- Pandora
- Anhami
- KKbox
- Last.fm
- SoundMachine
- Boomplay
- Audiomack
To use this tool, users simply need to link their third-party account. Deezer's algorithms will then analyze the playlists to detect AI-generated tracks.
An Invitation to the Industry
In addition to providing transparency to users, Deezer hopes this initiative will encourage its competitors to adopt its detection technology. The platform aims to promote a common standard in the industry for managing AI-generated music.
