OpenAI unveiled a major overhaul of its ecosystem during DevDay 2026. Among the announcements: a Pro tier at $500 with access to Astra Ultrafast, the gradual rollout of dots agents outside the European Union, the GPT-6.1 Sol model touted as more efficient at a lower cost, a collaborative space called ChatGPT Space, plugin extensions, and new capabilities for Codex.
Subscriptions: a Pro tier at $500 and revised quotas as of October 29, 2026
OpenAI is introducing a Pro tier priced at $500 per month. According to the company, this level offers the highest usage limits and includes exclusive access to Astra Ultrafast in ChatGPT Work and Codex. Astra Ultrafast is claimed to be up to eight times faster than GPT-6 Astra, and the model is accessible from the selector. Meanwhile, subscriptions to the $200 Pro tier, suspended on September 10 due to excessive load, are reopening with a significantly reduced usage quota but unchanged pricing. Current subscribers will retain their previous volume until October 29, 2026. After this date, the subscription will switch to the reduced included usage volume, according to the page detailing the plans.
Availability: rollout of dots outside the EU and access through offers
Dots agents are being gradually deployed in ChatGPT for Pro and Business Premium users, but the European Union is excluded from this initial phase, and no date has been announced for France. GPT-6.1 Sol is accessible to Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu users within ChatGPT Work and Codex, with a later rollout planned for ChatGPT. On the collaboration front, ChatGPT Space is available for Pro, Business, and Enterprise subscribers in the desktop app and web version. For developers, reusable development environments are offered with the Plus, Pro, Business, Education, Enterprise, and Healthcare plans.
Dots agents: operation, ecosystem of 4,000 plugins, and channels
Powered by GPT-6 Astra, the dots are described by OpenAI as agents working continuously to alleviate significant tasks. Each dot has its own machine in the cloud, a name, and a dedicated appearance. Connected to over 4,000 applications via plugins, they can respond to queries or act autonomously, pending user validation. Interactions can take place in ChatGPT, Slack, and Microsoft Teams, with SMS communication expected soon.
GPT-6.1 Sol: announced performance close to Astra and cost reduced by five times
GPT-6.1 Sol, presented as an improvement over the intermediate model launched just days earlier, is reported by OpenAI to approach the performance of GPT-6 Astra. The company cites demanding tasks such as writing and debugging code, multi-step business workflows, and document comprehension. According to OpenAI, this model costs one-fifth the price of GPT-6 Astra for both input and output and would represent the best performance-to-cost ratio available.
OpenAI allows third parties to create integrated experiences in ChatGPT
OpenAI is opening its internally used platform for creating features in ChatGPT, allowing third parties to design integrated experiences. Plugin extensions enable integration into the sidebar, display of a panel next to the conversation, and creation of viewers for supported file types. The company states that it has rethought the directory and improved ranking and recommendations. Codex, claimed to be used by over 20 million developers, benefits from reusable and persistent development environments that can be shared within teams and accessed from any device. A revamped CLI adds a voice mode and an /agents view to distribute work and track progress. A new code review interface is being deployed on the ChatGPT desktop app, allowing for summaries, change reviews, questions to Codex, and an initial autonomous proofreading, with support for GitHub pull requests and GitLab merge requests.
Identity and integrations: Sign in with ChatGPT and keynote replay
The Sign in with ChatGPT feature, modeled after Google or Apple, is available globally. It provides access to services such as Notion, Airtable, GitLab, HubSpot, or Vercel without creating a new account. OpenAI specifies that, during login, only the name, email address, and profile picture are transmitted to third-party services, and some partners allow the use of pricing, limits, and credits from the ChatGPT subscription on their tools. The opening keynote, presented by Sam Altman, is available for replay on OpenAI's YouTube channel.
