Users of Figma who rely on Claude Code to implement their designs often encounter notable discrepancies between the initial design and the final result. These differences manifest particularly through inconsistencies in fonts, colors, spacing, and sometimes even the appearance of new, unplanned UI components.
An Imperfect Connection Between Figma and Claude Code
To understand the origin of these gaps, it is essential to examine how Claude Code interacts with Figma. Claude Code relies on the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to establish a connection with the source design file in Figma. This protocol allows Claude's artificial intelligence to access structured data from Figma, such as frames, components, variables, layout properties, and the context of the design system.
However, despite this connection, the integration is not as smooth as hoped. Users often have to face manual adjustments to align the final product with the initial design.
