Fora Achieves Unicorn Status with $60 Million Funding
The innovative travel agency Fora recently announced an impressive fundraising round of $60 million. This Series D funding, led by Forerunner and Tactile Ventures, propels the company's valuation to $1 billion, thus granting it the coveted unicorn status.
Founded in 2021, Fora stands out with its two-pronged platform that allows users to become travel agents. It provides the necessary infrastructure to facilitate communication with clients and travel planning. Additionally, it enables users to connect with advisors to organize trips to popular destinations like Costa Rica or Thailand. Other investors participating in this funding round include Insight Partners and Thrive Capital. To date, Fora has raised a total of $138.5 million.
Enhancement of the AI Assistant Via
Part of the recently raised funds will be dedicated to improving Fora's AI assistant, named Via. This assistant is designed to help travel agents by automating repetitive administrative tasks, such as research and itinerary creation. The goal is to allow human travel agents to spend more time building relationships with their clients while increasing their productivity through AI.
Since its launch, Fora has enabled its agents to book over $3 billion in travel. The majority of users on the platform are newcomers to travel consulting. The company also plans to use these funds to hire more staff and expand into new travel categories, such as cruises and flights.
