Fragment under the aegis of Sierra: a strategic acquisition

Three years after its founding, the startup Fragment, established by the French entrepreneurs Guillaume Genthial and Olivier Moindrot, has been acquired by Sierra, a company specializing in artificial intelligence agents for businesses. This acquisition was orchestrated by Bret Taylor, chairman of the board at OpenAI and co-founder of Sierra. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

A promising journey for Fragment

Launched in 2023, Fragment quickly distinguished itself by helping companies, particularly fintechs, integrate AI into their operational processes. This approach allows teams to focus on higher-value tasks by automating manual tasks such as onboarding and compliance. The two French entrepreneurs were able to develop their project for three months within the American accelerator Y Combinator in the summer of 2023.

Founded in 2024, Sierra has already achieved an impressive valuation of $10 billion. With $630 million raised from prestigious funds such as Sequoia, Benchmark, and Greenoaks Capital, Sierra is establishing itself as a major player in the field of conversational AI. Bret Taylor, former CEO of Salesforce and former CTO of Facebook, and Clay Bavor, a former key figure at Google, lead this growing company.
