Gemini 4 Argon: Pricing, Expanded Access, and New Features

Google is generalizing access to Gemini 4 Argon but is reserving it for paid offers and specific channels. A launch price is set until November 30, 2026, for the API, before an announced increase. The model features a more direct response style, a unified cap of one million tokens, and safeguards for agentic uses. Antigravity is now available in the Gemini app on macOS for AI Ultra subscribers, with a new Tasks mode and over 40 integrations.
API: Launch Price Until November 30, 2026
Access to Gemini 4 Argon via the API comes with a temporary price set at $2 per million tokens for input and $10 per million for output. Google is also applying a 95% discount on cached input tokens. After November 30, 2026, the announced rates will increase to $4 for input and $20 for output per million tokens.
Who Has Access: Paid Profiles, Scientists, and Expanded Fairwind
The model is being deployed globally with distinct pathways depending on the audience. Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers can access it in the Gemini app as well as in Google Search's AI Mode, and Google AI Ultra subscribers can also use it in Antigravity. For developers, access is through the paid Gemini API offering, within AI Studio and Android Studio. Businesses can find Argon in Gemini for business, in the API, and in Antigravity. Google is also opening a pathway for research: scientists can apply for six months of free access to the highest usage tier of Antigravity, limited to 10,000 spots. Meanwhile, Fairwind, which provides Argon without cyber safeguards, is expanding to hundreds of additional partners. Google does not mention Google AI Plus subscribers or users of the free version, as the model was initially offered only to a select circle in cybersecurity through Fairwind.

Capabilities and Safeguards: Long Tasks, Direct Style, and Protocol
Google presents Argon as suitable for complex task chains in coding, finance, law, cybersecurity, and science. The company emphasizes that responses are more concise and exhibit less redundancy, while providing more regular updates on the progress of long-duration tasks. For developers, the API offers a global limit of one million tokens to be distributed between input and output, as well as a follow-up mechanism. Regarding agentic applications, Google specifies that the model has been trained to account for the restrictions of the systems used and to transparently report failures, while imposing a pause to require human validation before any irreversible operation.
Tools: Antigravity in the macOS App and a Dedicated Tasks Mode
Antigravity is now integrated into the Gemini app on macOS, allowing users to switch from conversation to code without changing tools. This integration is reserved for Google AI Ultra subscribers. The main interface adds a switch between Chat and Tasks, the latter replacing Gemini Spark and enabling the assistant to continue work in the user's absence. Finally, Gemini connects to over 40 applications, including Instacart, OpenTable, Adobe, and Shopify.
