Google recently announced a significant update for its Gemini application on MacOS, introducing two new features that promise to transform the user experience. Since its launch earlier this year, Gemini has consistently received improvements, and this latest update is no exception. Users can now interact with the application solely by voice, thanks to the integration of new vocal capabilities. Additionally, an innovative screen awareness mode has been added, further enriching the possibilities offered by Gemini.

Gemini for MacOS, although still young, has quickly established itself as a feature-rich application. Google continues to invest in its development, as evidenced by this update. Users of the Pro and Ultra models can take advantage of Gemini Spark, a feature that allows for automatic folder management or item reorganization. With just a few clicks, it is also possible to create images or videos, showcasing the application's versatility.

Among the new features, smart dictation stands out for its ability to transcribe speech into text smoothly, automatically eliminating verbal hesitations such as "uh" and "um." This feature is reminiscent of Android 17's Rambler technology, which cleans up text in real-time. While text dictation is not an innovation in itself, the integration of Gemini's AI could enhance its utility and effectiveness.

The second major innovation is the screen awareness mode. This optional feature allows Gemini to better understand the user's work context by analyzing what is displayed on the screen and the active windows. For example, by highlighting text in a document, the user can ask Gemini to "turn these notes into an executive summary," and the application will then replace the selected text with the desired content.
