Google recently announced the integration of a new feature in its artificial intelligence tool, Gemini. This feature, called "notebooks," aims to help users effectively organize information on specific topics. By centralizing elements such as files, past conversations, and personalized instructions, notebooks allow Gemini to use this data as context during interactions with the chatbot.
This innovation strongly resembles the "Projects" feature of ChatGPT, which was launched in 2024. Just like Projects, Gemini's notebooks provide a solution for storing and managing information on a given topic in one place. Google describes these notebooks as personal knowledge bases that can be shared across its various products, starting with Gemini.
One notable characteristic of Gemini's notebooks is their synchronization with NotebookLM, Google's AI research tool. Thanks to this synchronization, sources added in one of the applications automatically appear in the other, thus facilitating access to and management of information.
The rollout of Gemini's notebooks is scheduled for this week on the web, but it will initially be reserved for subscribers of Google's AI Ultra, Pro, and Plus plans. However, the feature will be extended to mobile and free users in the coming weeks.
