At the Google I/O 2026 conference, Google unveiled Gemini Spark, an artificial intelligence that promises to revolutionize the management of daily tasks. This AI, presented alongside Gemini Omni, marks a significant advancement in the field of autonomous AI agents. Unlike traditional assistants that require explicit instructions, Gemini Spark is designed to anticipate users' needs and proactively organize tasks, appealing to productivity enthusiasts.

A Digital Assistant That Anticipates Your Needs

The goal of Gemini Spark is to create a digital assistant capable of operating autonomously in the background. Connected to the Google ecosystem, this AI can access services such as Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, and Slides. It is capable of understanding users' habits to anticipate certain tasks. For example, if an appointment is approaching, the AI can prepare automatic reminders. Similarly, if multiple exchanges concern the same project, it can generate a draft email or organize information automatically.

Continuous Operation in the Cloud

One of the most remarkable features of Gemini Spark is its continuous operation in the cloud. The AI remains active even when the user is not directly interacting with their device, analyzing data and preparing actions in the background. This means that even while the user sleeps, Gemini Spark continues to work. For instance, a student might automatically receive a revision sheet after a professor sends a PDF document. Likewise, event organization could be simplified through automatic confirmations and tracking of exchanges.

Limited Access and Privacy Concerns

However, access to Gemini Spark will initially be limited. Only a select few testers in the United States will be able to try out this new AI, with a beta phase expected by the end of May 2026. Access will be reserved for subscribers of the Google AI Ultra plan, a premium offering. In France, no launch date has been announced yet.
