Google Dreambeans: The AI App That Transforms Your Daily Life into Personalized Stories
Google recently unveiled Dreambeans, an innovative application that stands out from traditional social networks by offering personalized stories based on its users' daily lives. Unlike endless feeds that capture attention for hours, Dreambeans provides a more focused and limited experience.
Every morning, users receive a selection of 10 to 14 personalized stories, illustrated by artificial intelligence. These narratives are generated from data collected within the Google ecosystem, including Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Photos, YouTube, as well as search history.
Stories Inspired by Your Daily Life
The stories offered by Dreambeans can vary significantly. They may include café recommendations based on your recent searches, information about an upcoming trip planned in your calendar, or ideas inspired by the videos you watch on YouTube. Some stories even go so far as to suggest concrete actions, such as reserving a spot for an event or purchasing a ticket.
To enrich these narratives, Google uses AI-generated illustrations, sometimes incorporating personal photos stored in Google Photos. The Nano Banana 2 model is employed to create these images, which may include faces of your loved ones identified from your photo albums.
Privacy and Accessibility
Regarding privacy, Google assures that users can choose which services they wish to connect to Dreambeans and have the option to delete their data at any time through the app's settings. The settings of Dreambeans do not affect the preferences of other Google AI services, such as Gemini.
Dreambeans is currently in an experimental phase and features a feedback system to improve the relevance of recommendations and the quality of visuals. For now, the app is accessible only to Google AI Ultra subscribers aged over 18 years residing in the United States. This subscription, the most expensive offered by Google, is priced at $100 per month and allows the app to be used on Android and iPhone.
It remains to be seen whether this approach will appeal to users, betting on advanced personalization and reduced screen time.
