Google is set to transform the way we manage our health with a series of technological innovations. The American giant is introducing an intelligent health coach powered by artificial intelligence, connected bracelets, and a completely revamped app, Google Health, which promises ultra-personalized health tracking for users.
Google Health: A Centralized App
Starting May 26, the historic Fitbit app will officially be replaced by Google Health. This transition marks a complete absorption of Fitbit into the Google ecosystem. The Google Health app becomes the central hub for all health data, including physical activity, sleep, nutrition, medical data, and fitness goals. The interface is inspired by the tracking rings used by Whoop and Apple Fitness, offering a simplified and intuitive overview of health information.
The Key Role of AI Gemini
At the heart of this new strategy is the Google Health Coach, an AI powered by Gemini. This artificial intelligence is capable of deeply analyzing users' lifestyles to provide personalized recommendations. Available 24/7, the coach can adjust workouts based on fatigue, analyze sleep cycles, and interpret certain medical data. Thanks to the massive historical data already collected by Google, the AI coach can transform this information into practical and tailored advice. For example, it can log your meals from a simple photo, turning a plate of pasta at midnight into actionable data.
Fitbit Air: A Discreet Yet Powerful Bracelet
To accompany this new platform, Google is also launching the Fitbit Air, a connected bracelet priced at 99 euros. Designed to be worn continuously, the Fitbit Air is screenless, making it very discreet on the wrist. It offers up to 7 days of battery life, measuring essential parameters such as heart rate, sleep, body temperature, SpO2, and heart rate variability. This data is crucial for feeding the AI with valuable information, allowing Google to enter the era of predictive health.
Towards Predictive Health
Google's bet is clear: to transform the mountains of data accumulated by connected devices into concrete and understandable recommendations for the general public. Generative AI allows for the conversion of these numbers into practical advice, helping users decide whether to rest, modify their diet, or adjust their training. This approach redefines the way we interact with our health, making data accessible and useful in everyday life.
