Google is bringing its AI products and smartphones closer to the pitch through agreements announced with Arsenal, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and PSG. Behind-the-scenes content and match analyses are planned for this season, with a stated goal of better showcasing women's football. Some features, including analyses via Gemini and official wallpapers, are already available.
Google and its clubs aim to close the visibility gap
Google states its intention to reduce the visibility gap in women's football. The company claims that women's tournaments attract record crowds, while judging that media coverage and visibility remain insufficient. The partnerships include both men's and women's teams and aim to capture action from the sidelines, produce dedicated content, and amplify the reach of women's football on a global scale. The broadcast of this content is announced for this season.
AI content and behind-the-scenes access on club and Google channels
Pixel is collaborating with the media teams of partner clubs to capture raw moments and emotions from behind the scenes. As part of the Shot on Pixel series, the clubs' social teams will use the Pixel camera and AI tools to offer new perspectives. Exclusive behind-the-scenes content, AI-powered match day analyses, and new fan experiences are also announced. These posts are expected to appear on the official channels of the clubs and on the @GooglePixel and @GoogleGemini accounts.
Already available: Gemini analyses and official wallpapers
Fans already have the opportunity to use Gemini for detailed match analyses, statistical data, and immediate responses during games, including club-related analyses. According to Google, Gemini proactively handles various tasks and provides the requested information. On the customization front, official club wallpapers are available for Pixel devices, and it is already possible to install them on Pixel 11. These wallpapers are also offered through the mentioned channels.
Five European clubs enter into long-term partnerships
Google has announced long-term agreements with Arsenal FC, FC Barcelona, FC Bayern München, Liverpool FC, and Paris Saint-Germain. As part of these partnerships, Pixel serves as the official smartphone partner. The Pixel cameras are intended to be used to create exclusive behind-the-scenes content highlighting both men's and women's teams.
