Google NotebookLM Revolutionizes Summaries with TikTok-Style Clips
NotebookLM from Google offers a new way to summarize your research: AI-generated videos in a TikTok style. This feature is currently being rolled out for Google AI Ultra and Pro subscribers, allowing NotebookLM to generate vertical clips of 60 seconds based on the sources you upload to the app.
The example shared by Google illustrates Australia's unsuccessful war against emus, pairing AI-generated cut-out style illustrations of emus with narration. This adds to the other ways NotebookLM allows you to interact with your research, including generating AI podcasts, cinematic videos, and visual explanations.
To generate a 60-second clip, go to NotebookLM on the web or the app, select a notebook, then choose “Video” in the Studio column on the right side of the screen. From there, select “Short,” choose the topic you want NotebookLM to focus on (or enter your own), and then hit the “Generate” button.
The feature is currently being rolled out only in English, with support for free users coming “soon.”
