Google Adjusts Pricing for Its AI Ultra Subscription
Google has announced a significant reduction in the price of its AI Ultra subscription during its Google I/O conference. The cost of this subscription, which was initially $250 per month, has been lowered to $200. This plan offers users access to the most advanced tools on the Gemini platform, as well as higher usage limits. This price cut comes as Google expands Gemini to more parts of the web and Android.
At the same time, Google is introducing a new Ultra subscription at $100 per month. This plan is aimed at users who want to take advantage of the advanced features of Gemini but without the maximum limits of the previous subscription.
Launch of Gemini Spark and Omni
This pricing revision coincides with the launch of Gemini Spark, a new AI assistance tool. Designed to help users accomplish tasks across applications and the web, Spark will be able to connect to Chrome in the future. Josh Woodward, Vice President of Google Labs teams, clarified that Spark will display live updates and task progress through a new Android interface called Android Halo. Spark will first be accessible to trusted testers this week, followed by a beta version for Google AI Ultra subscribers next week.
Additionally, Google unveiled Gemini Omni, a new series of multimodal AI models. These models are capable of processing text, audio, images, and video. The first model, Gemini Omni Flash, will be available starting Tuesday for Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers in the Gemini app, Google Flow, and YouTube Shorts.
