An Imminent Launch for GPT-5.6 and Its Variants
Rumors are circulating that GPT-5.6, the new version of the artificial intelligence developed by OpenAI, could be unveiled as early as this week. Although nothing has been officially confirmed yet, several sources suggest that this update may include a Pro version as well as a new voice mode. These innovations could bring significant improvements to ChatGPT users.
Speculation indicates that users might discover these new features by Thursday. Among the anticipated innovations, the mysterious GPT-5.6 would be accompanied by a Pro variant for more complex tasks and an enhanced voice mode for more natural interactions. While OpenAI has not yet confirmed this information, leaks and testimonials from testers are fueling excitement around these potential advancements.
Three Models in the Works, According to Leaks
Recent posts on X have revealed a possible launch timeline for these innovations. Chetaslua, an AI specialist known for his insights on model testing, announced that the launch could take place on Thursday. Another influential user, Salio (@Mr_Salio), also mentioned a release within the next 72 hours.
The visual shared by Chetaslua highlights three major innovations:
- GPT-5.6 Pro, which would be OpenAI's most advanced model, designed to handle complex tasks and deep reasoning.
- GPT-5.6-family, which promises improvements in speed and capabilities.
- GPT-Bidi-1, a voice model designed for more natural conversations, eliminating the frequent interruptions seen in previous versions.
According to Chetaslua, some testers have already had the opportunity to try GPT-5.6 Pro. They describe a model capable of producing impressive results with the right instructions, although these claims cannot be independently verified.
The Potential of the New Voice Mode
Among OpenAI's new offerings, the voice model GPT-Bidi-1 is generating significant curiosity. This model is said to be designed for smoother bidirectional exchanges, aiming to make conversations with the AI feel closer to authentic human dialogue, with fewer interruptions and more natural responses.
Leaks indicate that GPT-Bidi-1 would rely on a knowledge base cut off in August 2025. Initial feedback from testers is very positive, with some even calling it the best voice mode since the introduction of GPT-4o.
However, caution is warranted. The testimonials come solely from presumed testers, and no official demonstration has yet been presented to the public.
The question remains: Will OpenAI actually announce GPT-5.6 Pro and the other models this week? It's hard to say for certain. Previous instances show that some leaks turn out to be accurate, while others quickly fade away. The answer could very well arrive by Thursday.
