Grok AI: Traffic Dominated by Adult Content
Grok AI has now become a pornographic platform, with over 50% of its traffic related to adult content. Two former employees of xAI believe that the majority of visits to Grok involve images, videos, role-playing discussions, or other pornographic content, according to The Information. Even Grok's coding model frequently receives requests related to pornography.
xAI is expanding Grok's image and video generation, filling a gap that OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google dare not touch. According to SpaceX's IPO filings, Grok generated 10 billion images and 2 billion videos per month in the first quarter of 2026.
The direction Grok is taking became clear earlier this year when users on X spent weeks generating pornographic images of real people. xAI was aware but waited to act until regulatory pressure mounted. This episode reportedly "embarrassed and disturbed some researchers," which is understandable, given that they may have joined xAI to genuinely contribute to AI research. Now, all co-founders have left the company, which is renting its GPU resources to Anthropic.
