The Grokipedia encyclopedia, developed by xAI and launched by Elon Musk, appears to have been stagnant for several months. According to an investigation by Lawfare, no article modifications have been recorded since April 24, 2026. The project, driven by the Grok artificial intelligence, aimed to be an alternative to Wikipedia, boasting over six million articles, but its AI revision system is no longer functioning.
A Stagnant Platform
Researchers analyzed a sample of 34,519 pages, containing 225,496 suggested modifications. None of these suggestions have been accepted or rejected in the past three months. Approximately 13,002 requests are still pending review, even though users continue to submit new ones. Furthermore, a comparison of 480 archived pages before and after April 24 revealed no changes in their content.
The current interface of Grokipedia, version 0.2, has not yet been translated into French. Elon Musk, who launched this project in October 2025 to provide a supposedly more reliable and less biased alternative to Wikipedia, had described the latter as propaganda and ideological bias. Grokipedia was meant to be a "massive improvement" over Wikipedia. However, Musk has not mentioned Grokipedia on X since February. The silence surrounding this project raises doubts about its future, teetering between a secret overhaul and possible abandonment.
