HABS and Microsoft Join Forces for Neurocognitive AI
The French company HABS recently announced a strategic partnership with Microsoft aimed at democratizing the use of artificial intelligence systems capable of understanding and adapting to users' cognitive states. This collaboration marks a crucial step for HABS in its quest for increased global recognition.
After making waves at the previous edition of VivaTech, HABS is preparing to ramp up its efforts by 2026. In anticipation of the next major tech event in Paris, the French deeptech firm, specializing in analyzing brain waves to detect emotions in real-time, has unveiled its partnership with Microsoft to develop neurocognitive AI.
The main goal for HABS is to create systems that can dynamically adapt to the actual cognitive state of users. To achieve this ambitious objective, the company needs to partner with renowned industrial players.
HABS Becomes a Key Component of AI
The agreement with Microsoft includes a significant technical component. Through this collaboration, HABS will benefit from considerable computing power, notably with access to 80 H200 GPUs for training its AI models. This computing capacity will be represented by an internal token, the HPU (Human Processing Unit).
Additionally, HABS will receive technical and engineering support to assist in scaling its new architecture, which is essential for supporting the emerging ecosystem of neurocognitive AI. "The direction we are taking makes HABS an essential component of AI," explains Olivier Locufier, founder and CEO of HABS.
Integration into the Microsoft Ecosystem
On the commercial front, Microsoft also offers a powerful acceleration lever. The alliance will allow HABS to integrate its Neuro-AI technology into the ecosystem of the American giant. Platforms such as Microsoft Foundry, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Azure, and the Windows ecosystem are all potential areas for exploration for this technology. Currently, these integrations are at an exploratory stage, aiming to identify opportunities in this emerging field of AI.
"By collaborating with HABS on AI, cloud, and data platforms, we are not just addressing current challenges; we are laying the groundwork for a new era where AI better understands context and intent," states Adir Ron, cloud and AI director for startups and ISVs in the EMEA region at Microsoft.
HABS is also considering co-designing products with Microsoft. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to create joint labs with industrial partners to develop new neuromarkers. The goal is to innovate and enrich the technological base with concrete applications. "We are paving the way for a new generation of AI based on real-time cognitive signals, capable of adapting to context and enhancing decision-making in critical environments," says Olivier Locufier.
A Fundraising Initiative on the Horizon
By partnering with major players like Microsoft, HABS hopes to position itself as a global leader in the field of neurocognitive AI. This emerging sector presents promising applications across various domains such as healthcare, cybersecurity, customer relations, and decision support systems.
Aware of the potential to be harnessed, the French company plans to finalize a new fundraising round by the end of the first half of 2026. "2025 was the year of market confirmation. 2026 will be the year of the official launch of Neuro-AI in the market," summarizes the HABS leader. The era of responsible AI systems that are aware of human needs is just beginning.
