Full Analysis

Hark, a company specializing in the development of models and hardware for an AI personal assistant, recently announced an impressive fundraising round of $700 million in a Series A financing. This operation now values the company at $6 billion. The funding round was led by Parkway Venture Capital and included participation from several notable investors, including Align Ventures, AMD Ventures, ARK Invest, Brookfield, Greycroft, Intel Capital, Prime Movers Lab, Qualcomm Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, and TamarackGlobal.

The founder and CEO of Hark, Brett Adcock, who is also behind the robotics company Figure.AI and the electric aircraft manufacturer Archer, launched Hark at the end of 2025. He initially invested $100 million of his personal funds to develop an agentic AI system, designed to be a universal interface with the digital world.

Hark plans to launch its first multimodal models this summer. These models will power a personal AI platform that will be compatible with existing products and services. Subsequently, the company intends to develop hardware devices specifically designed for these systems.

The recently raised funds will be used to recruit top talent in hardware, product design, and AI research. The company also plans to secure computing resources and components. Currently, Hark employs 70 people and operates a data center equipped with Nvidia B200 GPUs.

Abidur Chowdhury, former product executive at Apple and currently the design director at Hark, was interviewed by TechCrunch this week. He declined to disclose new details about ongoing projects but emphasized that investors were impressed by his team's demonstrations. Chowdhury expressed his vision of creating products that truly help ordinary people, stating, "I haven't seen anything that resembles something that would really help a normal person."

He also noted that while companies like Anthropic focus on coding tools and OpenAI follows the same direction ahead of its IPO, few are dedicated to creating interfaces and native hardware like Hark. Chowdhury remains optimistic about Hark's ability to create something special in this space, thanks to their talented team and the recent funding round.

Nevertheless, questions remain, particularly about how Hark plans to provide life context to an AI assistant without compromising user privacy. Current wearable devices, such as Meta's glasses or future Android glasses, have yet to solve this issue. When asked about this question, Chowdhury simply smiled, leaving an air of mystery.
