A week ago, a mysterious AI named Hunter Alpha made waves on the OpenRouter platform. Initially, the identity of its developer was unknown, leading many experts to speculate about a possible creation by DeepSeek, a company renowned for its disruptive innovations in 2025.

However, Xiaomi surprised everyone by revealing that Hunter Alpha is actually a trial version of their new AI, officially named MiMo-V2-Pro.

Performance and Ranking of MiMo-V2-Pro

Even before its creator was known, Hunter Alpha had already reached the top of the usage rankings on OpenRouter. Xiaomi has now confirmed that MiMo-V2-Pro ranks 8th on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, a metric measuring the overall intelligence of AIs. In China, it positions itself just behind the GLM-5 model, thus occupying second place.

With a score of 49 on this index, MiMo-V2-Pro sits between Kimi K2.5 and GLM-5. This version represents a significant advancement over the previous open-weight version, MiMo-V2-Flash.

An AI Focused on Coding and Agents

Xiaomi has highlighted the capabilities of MiMo-V2-Pro in the coding domain, where it outperforms Claude 4.6 Sonnet in agent performance tests. Its overall performance, measured by ClawEval, is comparable to that of Opus 4.6.

Designed to power AI agents, MiMo-V2-Pro is intended to be integrated into productivity scenarios, acting as the brain of systems and workflows. Xiaomi is currently offering this model via an API.

Impact on the Stock Market

Following the announcement of MiMo-V2-Pro and the new version of its electric vehicle SU7, Xiaomi's shares surged by 5.8% on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, highlighting the positive impact of these innovations on the company's perception.
