Genesis AI: A Major Breakthrough in Robotics

The French startup Genesis AI is tackling one of the most complex challenges in robotics: replicating the dexterity of human hands. While robots have evolved significantly, creating robotic hands as skilled as those of humans has remained out of reach. Genesis AI is innovating with an approach based on artificial intelligence, an agile robot, and electronic skin.

The GENE-26.5 Model: A Technological Marvel

Genesis AI's AI model, named GENE-26.5, controls the robot and trains with vast datasets. The robotic hand is designed to mimic human movements, and a glove equipped with tactile sensors acts as electronic skin. This glove can be worn by a human to provide precise data to the GENE-26.5 AI.

The results are impressive. Genesis AI has shared videos showing the robot performing complex tasks, such as cooking a dish that requires 20 steps, including cracking an egg and chopping tomatoes.

Diverse Performances

Other videos demonstrate the Genesis AI robot solving a Rubik’s Cube or playing the piano. The robotic hands also manipulate laboratory tools and organize cables. Zhou Xian, co-founder and CEO of Genesis AI, states: “For the very first time, we are enabling robots to do what only human hands could do, reliably and at scale.”

European Expansion on the Horizon

Genesis AI plans to enhance its technology and is already in discussions with potential clients in France, Germany, and Italy. The targeted sectors include automotive, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and logistics, where robots still face challenges.

Founded in 2025, Genesis AI raised $105 million in a funding round led by Eclipse and Khosla Ventures, with participation from Bpifrance, HSG, Eric Schmidt (former head of Google), and Xavier Niel.
